Simplified battery visuals enhance user experience with glanceable charging and status information.

Introduction
Windows 11 is rolling out a vibrant redesign of its battery icons, making it easier for users to gauge their laptop’s power status. These updates, available in the latest Insider Preview Build, bring intuitive color-coded indicators and additional functionality to improve user convenience.
New Battery Icon Features
Microsoft is replacing the traditional black battery icon with three dynamic colors:
Green: Indicates the laptop is charging and in good condition.
Yellow: Activates below 20% battery, signaling energy-saving mode.
Red: Warns of critically low battery, urging immediate charging.
These colors will appear in the taskbar system tray, quick settings, and Windows Settings. Microsoft also plans to introduce them to the Lock screen in a future update.
Improved Visual Design
The updated icons feature a clearer, unobstructed progress bar, eliminating overlaps like the charging bolt symbol. Users can now enable a Battery Percentage display next to the icon for precise power tracking.
A Welcome Upgrade for Users
The battery icon redesign addresses long-standing user feedback, ensuring that status and charging issues are instantly recognizable. This will prevent common mishaps like forgetting to plug in or noticing a drained battery too late.
Availability
Currently, the feature is rolling out to Windows Insiders in the Dev Channel for testing, with wider availability expected after feedback evaluation.
