Threads, Meta’s text-based social platform, is stepping up its game with an enhanced search feature rolling out globally over the next few weeks. The update introduces profile-specific and date-range filtering to refine searches, addressing one of the platform's long-standing user requests.

How It Works

The new feature adds a settings icon in the search bar. Tapping it reveals three key filters:

  • “From Profile”: Locate posts from specific users.

  • “After Date” and “Before Date”: Narrow down posts by timeframes.

Closing the Gap with Competitors

Threads’ update is a step toward catching up with platforms like X (formerly Twitter) and Bluesky, which already offer advanced search tools. In recent months, Threads has also introduced custom following feeds, improved algorithms, and default feed options, catering to its growing user base.

With these improvements, Threads is proving to be a serious contender in the social media space. Advanced search filters will undoubtedly enhance usability and attract users looking for a feature-rich alternative.
