Ultra-thin design and impressive waterproofing set a new standard for foldables.

Introduction

Oppo’s upcoming Find N5 foldable phone is setting records for slimness, with its unfolded thickness barely exceeding the size of a USB-C port. Expected to launch in the US as the OnePlus Open 2, the Find N5 is poised to challenge industry leaders like Samsung and Google in the foldable market.

Design: Pushing the Limits of Thinness

Photos shared by Oppo reveal the Find N5’s thickness, likely around 4mm when unfolded, making it thinner than the current record-holder, the Honor Magic V3. Oppo’s Find N5 is about the thickness of two Chinese yuan coins or 39 sticky notes, demonstrating engineering ingenuity.

Best-in-Class Waterproofing

The Find N5 boasts an IPX9 rating, ensuring resistance to high-temperature, high-pressure water jets. Additionally, it meets IPX8 standards for submersion and IPX6 for standard water jets. While dust resistance remains absent (denoted by ‘X’), the waterproofing is a major step forward for foldables.

Competition and Expectations

Following the success of the Find N3 (branded as the OnePlus Open internationally), the Find N5 is expected to bring significant competition to the foldable market. With a launch scheduled in China next month, Oppo aims to solidify its position in this segment.

Conclusion

The Oppo Find N5 blends cutting-edge design with practical durability, setting a benchmark for future foldable phones. For more updates on its launch and international availability, stay tuned to Kushal Bharat Tech News!
