The Yoga Slim 7x 14 and ThinkPad T14s are Each Getting a Snapdragon X Elite Processor
Lenovo announced on Monday that it’s adding two Qualcomm-powered laptops to its portfolio: the Yoga Slim 7x 14 Gen 9 and the ThinkPad T14s Gen 6. These new models mark a significant expansion in Lenovo’s commitment to incorporating cutting-edge ARM architecture into their popular laptop lines.
Yoga Slim 7x 14 Gen 9: Sleek and Creative
The Yoga Slim 7x 14 Gen 9 is designed for creative professionals and those who need powerful, portable performance. This laptop is configured with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Elite processor, offering up to 32GB of memory and up to 1TB of M.2 SSD storage. The Yoga Slim 7x 14 also features three USB-C ports with Power Delivery and DisplayPort 1.4 support, enhancing its versatility for various peripherals and external displays.
The standout feature is its 14.5-inch OLED touch display, providing vibrant colors and deep blacks ideal for creative tasks. Weighing just 2.8 pounds and measuring as thin as 0.51 inches, the Yoga Slim 7x 14 is incredibly portable. It includes a 1080p IR webcam with Windows Hello support for secure, convenient login.
Lenovo claims the Yoga Slim 7x 14 offers multiday battery life, positioning it as a strong competitor to the MacBook Pro in terms of endurance. If these claims hold true, it could redefine expectations for battery performance in high-powered, thin-and-light laptops.
ThinkPad T14s Gen 6: Business Powerhouse
The ThinkPad T14s Gen 6, geared towards business users, shares the Snapdragon X Elite processor with its Yoga counterpart but extends its capabilities with up to 64GB of memory. Storage options mirror the Yoga with up to 1TB of M.2 SSD. Users can choose from three 14-inch display options: an IPS display with up to 400 nits of brightness, an IPS touch display, or an OLED display that covers 100 percent of the DCI-P3 color gamut, also with 400 nits of brightness.
The ThinkPad T14s Gen 6 includes a suite of ports designed for business environments, such as two USB-A ports, two USB4 Type-C ports, an HDMI 2.1 port, and an audio jack. Additionally, it features a fingerprint reader for enhanced security. Weighing in at 2.71 pounds and measuring 0.67 inches thick, it’s slightly heavier and thicker than the Yoga Slim but still highly portable. Lenovo also promises multiday battery life for this model, making it ideal for professionals on the go.

Lenovo's Track Record with Qualcomm
This isn’t Lenovo’s first foray into Windows laptops with Qualcomm chips. The 2019 Yoga 5G (called the Flex 5G in the US) featured a Snapdragon 8cx processor and 5G connectivity. In 2022, Lenovo released the ThinkPad X13s with a Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3. However, this model faced challenges with software compatibility and performance, especially when compared to laptops powered by Apple, Intel, and AMD chips.
Availability and Pricing
The Yoga Slim 7x 14 Gen 9 is expected to start at $1,199, and the ThinkPad T14s Gen 6 will start at $1,699. Both models will be available in June, providing users with exciting new options for both creative and business applications.
