There’s no price yet on these camera glasses, but they’ll likely cost more than $249.

For those in the market for glasses that offer hands-free video recording and an AI voice assistant, the options are currently limited, with the Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses leading the pack. However, Solos, known for its audio-only smart glasses, is about to change that landscape. The company has announced the upcoming release of the Solos AirGo Vision, which will feature a camera and integrate OpenAI’s latest GPT-4o AI model, enabling the glasses to recognize objects and answer questions about what you’re seeing.

Solos AirGo Vision: The Next Step in Smart Glasses

The Solos AirGo Vision is designed with versatility in mind. It includes a swappable frame system, allowing users to remove the camera module when it's not needed or if it's socially inappropriate. This flexibility means you can easily switch to different frames or even sun shades, which range in price from $89 to $129.

These new smart glasses are also equipped with notification LEDs to alert you of incoming calls or emails. Furthermore, they can integrate with other advanced AI models such as Google Gemini and Anthropic’s Claude AI, offering a broad range of functionalities. Like the Meta Ray-Bans, the AirGo Vision will provide answers to your questions via audio, although they lack a display beyond the notification LEDs.

Pricing and Availability

While Solos has not yet announced the price or specific release date for the AirGo Vision, they are expected to cost more than $249.99. This is based on the pricing of Solos’ current audio-only glasses, which will retail for $249.99 starting in July. In comparison, the Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses start at $299.

AI Integration: A Game Changer

The integration of OpenAI’s GPT-4o AI model is a significant step forward for smart glasses. This model allows the AirGo Vision to perform complex tasks such as recognizing objects and providing detailed information about what the user is viewing. This capability transforms the glasses from simple recording devices into powerful, interactive tools that can enhance the user’s experience in numerous ways.

A New Contender in the Market

The Solos AirGo Vision represents a compelling new option in the smart glasses market. With its combination of advanced AI, camera functionality, and versatile design, it stands to challenge the dominance of the Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses. As consumers increasingly look for wearable technology that offers practical and innovative features, the introduction of these new smart glasses by Solos could mark a significant shift in the market.
