Turn your AirTag into a rugged, long-lasting tracker with the new TimeCapsule case

Introduction

Elevation Lab has unveiled the TimeCapsule, a protective case designed to transform Apple’s AirTag into a durable tracker with ten years of battery life. Priced at approximately ₹1,650 for a single unit, the TimeCapsule also adds IP69-rated waterproof and dustproof capabilities, making it an ideal choice for outdoor enthusiasts or heavy-duty usage.

Design and Features

The TimeCapsule replaces the AirTag’s standard CR2032 battery with a pair of AA batteries, significantly extending its lifespan. Made from fiber-reinforced polycarbonate, the case ensures Bluetooth and UWB signals remain unaffected.

Its IP69 rating provides the highest resistance to dust, dirt, and water, making it resilient against harsh environments. Additionally, the enclosure doubles as a camouflage, disguising the AirTag as a gadget like an external storage drive.

Practical Considerations

While the added durability and battery life are impressive, the case increases the AirTag’s weight to 3.5 ounces (compared to 0.39 ounces). It also reduces the volume of the AirTag’s chirps by about a third. For maximum efficiency, Elevation Lab suggests using Energizer Ultimate Lithium AA batteries, known for their leak resistance and long life.

Pricing in India

The TimeCapsule is priced at:

  • ₹1,650 for one unit

  • ₹2,470 for a pair

  • ₹3,220 for a discounted four-pack

Conclusion

The Elevation Lab TimeCapsule is a game-changer for AirTag users seeking extended battery life and enhanced durability. While it adds some bulk, its robust design and long-lasting power make it a practical choice for demanding applications.
